Trailer Mounted Telescopic Mast Range

Photo: Trailer MastFactory made, ready to use. Trailer mounted mobile masts have advantages. First is that the mast stays an independent unit and does not rely on the vehicle to operate. Any vehicle suitably equipped with a towing hook will suffice.

This independence allows the vehicle to be used for other purposes away from location of the mast. A disadvantage is that a trailer can make vehicle manoeuvring more difficult. Clark Masts recommend consideration of a trailer mast when the erected mast stays stationary for several days but must be movable at short notice. Clark Masts offers two basic models based respectively on the WT and XT Series Masts.

MODEL 802
This model may be fitted with 15, 21 or 30 metre WT Series masts. Although an option on the two shorter masts, a guy winch unit is standard on the 30 metre model and should be used at all times.

A platform is fitted as standard to all models to ensure operator safety. Jacks are fast acting swing-out type. Vehicle lighting is standard. The towing hitch style can be chosen by the user at the time of order.

Maintain Happy Landings!

Large transport aircraft have a remarkable safety record when carrying large numbers of people to their destination. In no small part this is thanks to the highly developed navigational systems available to them at major airports. One of those Navaids is the ILS system whereby a landing aircraft is guided to the runway threshold.

Whilst the ultimate calibration calls for a calibration aircraft, Clark Masts ILS Checking System is ideal for rapid checks in conditions of bad visibility, when the facility is most needed. It is available as a trailer mast system and also as a container fitted unit. Ask for further details. A Clark Masts ILS checking unit enables you to keep your ILS in irrefutable good order, 24H/7days per week in all weather.

Some Other Applications

Trailer Masts have been successfully used in the past for the following

  1. Temporary Police Control Centres, linking the communications of foot patrols, vehicles and headquarters.

  2. Siting Repeater Stations for linking temporary terminals where hills prevent good links. Especially necessary in unforeseen natural disasters.

  3. Siting Node Points for Mobile Telephone Systems where incorrect siting can multiply the antennas needed to obtain coverage.

Heavy Duty Model 804

This is a heavier duty model which may be fitted with a 15, 18, 26 or 30 metre mast from the XT Series and is particularly useful where great stability is required.

The mast is hydraulically swung from the horizontal to the vertical ready-for-extension position. This enables a headload of up to 50 kg for the 802/15 model to be fitted to the mast whilst still in the transport position.

Jacks are mechanical and are hinged to stow vertically which is useful on sloping ground. The style of towing-hitch may be interchanged by the user.

A height adjustable swan-neck towing arm is standard, as is a guy winch unit for top guys. Pickets are 1 metre long, tubular, with an extractor for easy withdrawal. A hammer is supplied. Tool box and spare wheel are standard.

Towing may be effected by any large car or truck which is equipped with a suitable towing hook.
